Once individual users and groups/roles are created, it is time to give permission to content within Mediasite. This is accomplished by managing and adjusting the security of a folder or presentation on the Content tab of the management portal. By granting security permissions to a role you are allowing the group of individuals with that role access to the content.

Giving a Role access to content means that you will have to adjust the security permission of a folder or presentation. This is accomplished on a folder in the management portal by:

1. Selecting the Content tab
2. Right click on the folder and select Security or Select the folder and choose Folder Options > Security
3. Ensure Inherit permissions from parent folder is not selected
4. In the Add people or groups text field, enter the name of the Role you would like to give permission
5. Select the level of access permission to role will have
6. Click the Add button
7. Select the newly added role to verify the allowed permissions
