An advantage of integrating Mediasite with the Brightspace LMS is the ability to bring the built-in engagement of the LMS and Mediasite together. The prime example of this is the video assignment. As an instructor you can create an assignment that will require a video to complete. Students will then need to create and upload a video through Mediasite to complete the assignment.

The process for video assignments can be broken into three processes.

1. Create video assignment
2. Submit video assignment
3. Grade video assignment

In this process, the instructor is responsible for the first and third step while the student is responsible for the second.

Creating an assignment where your students will submit a Mediasite video is a few simple changes to the process you already know for creating an assignment. You will begin on the content page of the course.

1. Select a module for the list on the left-hand navigation where you would like to add the assignment.
2. Click New > New Assignment.
3. Complete the assignment details as you would any other assignment. This includes giving it a title and some instruction.
4. Change the Submission type to Text Submission. This will allow students to attach a Mediasite video to their assignment.
5. Save the Assignment and make sure it is visible to students.

Your Assignment will now be ready for students to submit a video to complete it.
