Using quizzes within a video is a great way to test your student’s knowledge and understanding of the content presented in a video. With Mediasite it’s easy to pull the in-video quiz results back to Brightspace. All that’s needed is a video with a published quiz and the ability to create an assessment for your course.

Post the video in Brightspace

In order have the quiz results from a video post back to the LMS there are two main requirements:

1. The quiz needs to be published to the video before it is posted in the LMS.
2. The video needs to be posted as an assignment using a deep linking or content item message (CIM).

From within your Brightspace course page, you’ll need to:

1. Navigate to the course Content page and locate the module you would like to add the video quiz to.
2. Click New > New Assignment.
3. Enter the required details including title and instructions.
4. Click the Insert Stuff
5. Choose Mediasite Quiz.
6. Select Presentation to populate the list of available presentations from My Mediasite.
7. Locate the presentation with the quiz and click Add to Course > Player Only.
8. Click Insert to add the presentation to the assignment.
9. Click Save to create the assignment and make it available to students.

Publish Results to Gradebook

Posting the in-video quiz is only half the process. Once the assignment with in-video quiz has been completed by students, the next step is to get the results posted to the gradebook. This is all done from the quiz results page within My Mediasite.

Starting from the Brightspace course page:

1. Open My Mediasite from the top navigation menu.
2. Select the video that was posted within the assignment.
3. Click View Analytics then select the Quiz
4. Select desired or all results to post to the gradebook.
5. Click Post Score to Gradebook.
6. Within the LMS, confirm scores were posted.
