Uploading your first Mediasite Video Presentation to Canvas is easy. Mediasite supports the uploading of a wide variety of video formats. If you have recorded a video with your Phone or created a video using a 3^rd party tool like Adobe Premiere, Apple iMovie or some other tool, you shouldn’t have any issues uploading it to Mediasite.

When uploading a Video in Canvas, you have 2 options:

1.) Upload Your Video to a Canvas Page

2.) Upload Your Video to My Mediasite

1.) Upload Your Video to a Canvas Page

If your video is ready for sharing with your Course, it’s possible to upload and embed your video at the same time.

To upload and embed your video within a Canvas Course Page, you will need to:

1. Browse to your Canvas Course
2. Click Edit on the course page
3. Click the plugin icon then select Mediasite
4. Click: Upload New Video. A full list of supported file types can be found in KBA3779
5. Select your video file then click Open
6. Enter a Title, Description and pick a location like your Drafts Folder
7. Click: Create Presentation
8. After the video has been uploaded, click: Add Presentation to Canvas, then select your desired embed type (e.g. Player Only).

2.) Upload Your Video to My Mediasite

If you plan to make edits to your video before publishing it to a Course Collection or Canvas Page, it’s easiest if you upload it to My Mediasite first before publishing.

To upload your first video, you will need to:

1. Browse to your Canvas Course
2. Click: My Mediasite
3. Click: Add Presentation
4. Click: Upload New Video. A full list of supported file types can be found in KBA3779
5. Select a video file from your computer
6. Click: Open
7. Enter a Name for the Presentation
8. Click: Create Presentation
