Once individual users and groups/roles are created, it is time to give permission to content within Mediasite. This is accomplished by managing and adjusting the security of a folder or presentation on the Content tab of the management portal. By granting security permissions to a role you are allowing the group of individuals with that role access to the content.

Securing Content with Local Accounts
Giving a Role access to content means that you will have to adjust the security permission of a folder or presentation. This is accomplished on a folder in the management portal by:
- Selecting the Content tab
- Right click on the folder and select Security or Select the folder and choose Folder Options > Security
- Ensure Inherit permissions from parent folder is not selected
- In the Add people or groups text field, enter the name of the Role you would like to give permission
- Select the level of access permission to role will have
- Click the Add button
- Select the newly added role to verify the allowed permissions
