A Mediasite recorder is the piece of hardware that takes in all the content, including video, audio and slides. The content is then synced and combined into an interactive Mediasite presentation. The presentation is then pushed out to a server and ready for viewing. In the context of a live presentation this all happens in a matter of seconds.
In this info-graphic you can see how this is done. On the input side is a camera pointed at the presenter, the microphone capturing audio and the presentation slides or content, in the form of a connected laptop. Each of these is connected to the recorder through one of multiple means. Depending on the recorder model, it is possible to have up to 3 video and 1 content source as well as 1 audio source processed simultaneously.
